Dentons advises DRI, DTEK’s EU renewable energy arm, on the acquisition of a 126 MW solar park project in Romania

Global law firm Dentons advised DRI, the EU renewable energy arm of Ukrainian energy group DTEK, on the acquisition of a 126 MW solar park project in Văcărești Dâmbovița county, Romania from local developers.

This is DRI’s third renewable energy project in Romania and another step towards its goal of achieving 1 GW of renewable energy in the country by 2028.

Dentons advised DRI on the due diligence, structuring of the transaction, drafting and negotiation of the transfer documents, FDI clearance, as well as on the signing and closing.

Partner Claudiu Munteanu-Jipescu, Head of the Energy practice in Bucharest, led the team, assisted by senior associate Andreea Predescu (Corporate and M&A), counsel Elena Vlasceanu, senior associate Angelica Pintilie, associate Alin Dimache (all Energy), partner Bogdan Papandopol, senior associate Isabela Gheorghe and associate Diana Ceparu (all Real Estate), partner Raul Mihu and associate Iulia Titirisca (both Competition), partner Alexandra Radulescu (Litigation and Dispute Resolution), senior associate Stefi Ionescu and associate Cristina Staicu (both Banking and Finance). Kyiv-based partner Maksym Sysoiev introduced the client to the Bucharest team. The Dentons team worked closely with DRI's in-house legal team: Adina Stoica (Legal Director DRI in Romania) and Vladyslav Smelik (Legal Manager, DRI).
