Vodafone Romania is a subsidiary of Vodafone Group, the largest pan-European and African technology communications company, which transforms the way we live and work through its innovation, technology, connectivity, platforms, products and services. Vodafone operates mobile and fixed networks in 21 countries, and partners with mobile networks in 52 more.  As of 31 December 2021, Vodafone had over 300m mobile customers, more than 28m fixed broadband customers and over 22m TV customers. Vodafone is the company that implemented the first digital mobile network in Romania, in 1997, and the first operator to launch 3G services on the Romanian market in 2005. Vodafone launched the first 4G mobile data network in Romania, in 2012, followed by Supernet 4.5G network, in 2017, and the first 5G network in Romania, in 2019. The same year, Vodafone acquired UPC Romania, launching its first mobile, fixed&TV offers.

At the end of 2021, 11.2 million customers relied on Vodafone Romania services.
