Bergenbier SA history starts in 1994 at Blaj, when Interbrew takes over the majority shares of Blanca SA Blaj.
For the next 17 years, the company was the subject of different mergers and acquisitions, changing ownership several times (Interbrew, InBev, ABInBev, CVC Capital Partners). In 2011, the company, together with the 9 brewing operations of Central Europe, was acquired by Molson Coors Brewing Company.

Today, Bergenbier S.A. is among the top 3 beer producers in Romania, has 600 employees, a modern production plant in Ploiesti that produces more than 4 million hectolitres per year and a national distribution network. The company’s portfolio includes brands that cover all market segments: Bergenbier, Noroc, Staropramen, Stella Artois, Beck’s, Lowenbrau and distributes 2 Belgian specialty beers: Leffe and Hoegaarden.
